Bhimashankar Temple is a Jyotirlinga shrine, this is one of the 12 temples of Shiva's Jyothirlinga fame. Explore the serene hidden depths of the Bhimshankar Wildlife Sanctuary.
Bhimshankar is an ancient shrine situated in the Sahyadri Hills in the state of Maharashtra. The Bhimashankar Temple is a composite of old and new structures in the Nagara style of architecture. It is a modest yet graceful temple that dates back to the 13th century.
Pune and Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga Tour Itinerary
Post which you will be driven towards Bhimashankar, which is a 5-5.5 hour drive.
You can stop for breakfast on the way to Bhimashankar.
Upon reaching Bhimashankar you can check into the hotel and explore the surrounding areas. Places that can be visited are Hanuman Lake, Gupt Bhimashankar, Origin of River Bhima, Nagphani, Mumbai Point, Sakshi Vinayak and a lot more. Please note that many of these have to be covered on foot.
In the evening, you will be driven back to your hotel post completion of the tour.
After darshan, you can continue to explore Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary or start your return journey for Mumbai.
